Download PDFOn July 19th Liz Thompson (back row third from right) and James Draxler (front row centre) were present at an award ceremony to receive a cheque and certificate from Marion Council Mayor, Kris Hannah, for the Association. James is a volunteer with the Association and it was his idea to have a community disability friendly garden using the edges of the Association carpark which can be accessed and utilised by those in wheelchairs and those people who have limited bending ability. Within the Glandore area there are many people in this situation as are many of our members. They enjoy gardening but are unable to do it the way you and I do it. This initiative turns disability into ability. Well done James and Liz.
On Wednesday May 11th come and join our Coffee & Co group for the opening and naming of our Garden at 1230. An idea from one of our volunteers tuned into a grant and into a garden for all to enjoy and be part of. Turning disability into ability for Huntington's and the Glandore Community. There has been great excitement putting the Garden together and making it their own achievement. There will be a sausage sizzle lunch from 11.00am with the opening at 1230pm.
If you would like to attend please let us know by TXT which says attend Garden to 0424062121.
