Volunteering or giving is a great thing to do. Volunteers provide much needed supports and services to the community that they would otherwise not get.
Volunteers also help themselves by keeping active and involved. Volunteering can improve physical and mental health, providing greater quality and longevity of life.
We have an awesome HD community and those who give the gift of their time and effort are very precious to our Association. Indeed, we could not be the Association we are without them.
Our volunteers help to open doors to new experiences and help put a smile on the faces of people with and impacted by HD.
We are always looking for people to join our great team of volunteers who we encourage to share their thinking and creativity. If you are interested in helping us be the best Association we can be, then we would love to hear from you (see below how you can do that).
From time to time we have specific roles available that we are looking to fill, with regular hours every week. We call these key volunteer roles and each one has a written role description. We also have areas of need that are more occasional or ad hoc.
You may have some specific or transferrable skills we are looking for or you may like to try a completely new experience in areas such as fundraising, helping with program delivery, becoming a companion, joining our online shop team, or helping with administration or operational areas such as transport, maintenance or cleaning. All areas are equally important and help us keep the show rolling.
All of our volunteers are required to undertake the appropriate disability services employment check and adhere to Huntington’s SA & NT policies and procedures, including our Values and Code of Conduct. If taking on a key Volunteer role you will also need to sign a volunteer agreement with us.
